The first workshop of the CBC-ORIENT project was held in Beli Manastir on the 1st of September, 2017. Sixteen participants including nine Croatian teachers and coaches attended the event. András Kersity helped the audience fight down the language barrier. Réka Vonyó Péterné Szabó secretary of the “TÁJFUTÁSÉRT-PÉCS” Foundation was greeting the participants first with a short presentation about the project. The first professional presentation was made by Ferenc Viniczai, who spoke about orienteering in Baranya County, and the successful work in the club of Pécsi Vasutas Sportkör. After a short break Péter Vonyó expounded the possibility of recruiting and teaching beginner youth team. At the end of the workshop opinion about the local orienteering of Máté Baumholczer - the most successful member of PVSK in the recent years – was presented. The event has become more interactive from the questions and comments of the audience.

On the second day of the workshop the participants heard information about the specialities of sprint-orienteering and they surveyed the CBC-ORIENT CUP competition in downtown of Osijek. They checked the way of the participating children and shared their experiences.

A CBC-ORIENT CUP versenysorozat első állomása Eszéken került megrendezésre 2017. szeptember 2-án szombaton, több mint 80 résztvevővel. A versenyközpont a Dráva partjához közel egy focipályán helyezkedett el, ahol délelőtt 11 órai kezdettel egy egyéni rövidtávú versenyre került sor. A terep a városi részek mellett több parkos területet tartogatott a futók számára. Délután három órai kezdettel sprint váltó versenyt rendeztünk, 2 illetve 3 fős csapatok részvételével. A terep a délelőttivel átfedésben volt, az eszéki óvárosi résszel kiegészülve. Az időjárás kegyes volt hozzánk, a nap nagy részén elkerült minket az eső, csak az eredményhirdetés idejére vált szükségessé, hogy fedett helyre vonuljunk. Az eredményhirdetésen a városháza munkatársa is tiszteletét tette.

The first event of the CBC-ORIENT CUP series was organised in Osijek on Saturday 2nd of September 2017, with more than 80 participants. The event centre was on a football court close to the banks of the Drava river. The individual sprint race started at 11 o’clock in the morning. The terrain was an urban area with lots of park. The sprint relay race with 2 and 3 runners in one team started at 3 o’clock in the afternoon with a mass-start. The terrain was the same as in the morning expanded with some part of Osijek old town. We had luck with the weather, we had to search shelter only after the race due to the rain. The prize giving ceremony was organized close to the event centre where the colleague of the city hall participated also.
